Lesley Braun is the Global Director of the Blackmores Institute which facilitates education, research, and innovation in complementary medicine. She has won numerous awards for her work, authored best-selling textbooks, founded a peer-reviewed scientific journal, and is currently the editor-in-chief of FX Medicine, a popular podcast series.

Lesley is passionate about the role of diet, lifestyle, and complementary medicine approaches in healthcare and is a strong advocate for supporting women in STEM to become the new leaders of the future.

With more than 18 years of experience in research roles within the media industry, Julie joined IRI (now Circana) in 2020 to bring her expertise and passion for consumer trends into the FMCG space.

Julie's unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional work is evident in all aspects of her role at Circana, from leading research and strategy projects to providing valuable insights for clients.

Stu Horne

Stu Horne is currently the Divisional Manager of the Economic Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Having previously worked as a corporate lawyer, Stu joined the Ministry in 1999. He had stints in the Ministry’s Legal Division and its Trade Negotiations Division followed by a posting in Brussels.

Stu also has extensive Pacific experience having served as New Zealand’s Special Coordinator to the Small Island Developing States Conference in 2014, following a posting as Deputy High Commissioner in Samoa. Prior to joining the Economic Division, Stu headed up MFAT’s Middle East and Africa Division.

Stu is married with two children and has a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Otago.

Chris James

Chris is the Group Manager of Medsafe, the medicine and medical device regulator in New Zealand. Chris is a registered Pharmacist in New Zealand and has a post graduate qualification in Public Health. Chris also has formal training in regulatory systems.

In 2006 Chris joined Medsafe, initially in the premarket assessment of new medicines, then moving to the post market pharmacovigilance team. Chris was appointed Manager of the Clinical Risk team in 2011, responsible for providing clinical advice, communications, and the regulation of clinical trials. Chris has been Medsafe Group Manager since 2015.

Sarah McGuinness is a mental health champion and one of New Zealand’s leading workplace wellbeing experts.

Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in corporate wellbeing and behaviour change and has supported well-known organisations to improve the wellbeing of their people, including Sealord, the NHS, nib and Weta. She draws on her honours degree in psychology and degree in communication, training in health behaviour, fitness and facilitation, plus a 15+ year career in the corporate sector specialising in leadership and organisational development in Australia and New Zealand which included an award-winning program.

I’m fortunate to work with some amazing teams in New Zealand and Australia, hands-on as a consultant, embedded as a strategic advisor, and taking my own medicine as a start-up founder and investor.

Peter is the Head of the New Zealand Export Credit team, which is New Zealand’s Export Credit Agency located within the Treasury.  Peter is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Export Credit team, with a focus on its performance, strategy and partnerships with business, banks and other agencies.  Peter has been with the Export Credit team for over 9 years, and prior to his current role led the client facing side of the team, working with exporters to address the risks and concerns that keep them awake at night. 

Prior to joining the Export Credit team Peter spent the previous 10 years in banking working for banks in New Zealand and London, with a focus on project and export finance transactions.

Gary leads William Reed‘s HQ in Asia and is Editor-in-Chief of its food and nutrition titles FoodNavigator-Asia, NutraIngredients-Asia and CosmeticsDesign-Asia, as well as organising a number of high-level food, nutrition and cosmetics conferences, awards and summits. He started his career as a journalist in UK, where he we went on to edit several newspapers and consumer titles, before taking senior leadership roles in business-to-business media and events companies across the food, beverage, cosmetics, fashion, travel and media industries. Gary opened William Reed’s first Asia Pacific office in Singapore in 2016 and has spearheaded the expansion of its editorial, events and commercial operations across the region. Gary has hosted, presented and moderated at conferences and awards shows around the world, and has regularly appeared on TV and radio to discuss the food and nutrition, travel and tourism, and media and marketing industries.

Florence Van Dyke

Florence is the Head of Sustainability at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and co-founder of Chia Sisters. Chia Sisters is a health beverage company based out of a solar-powered, Zero Carbon and B Corp certified juicer in Nelson, supplying cafes and supermarkets nationally and exporting to Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Florence is a Trustee and Co-Founder of Businesses for Climate Action. For her work in business and climate change, she is recognised on the Forbes 30 under 30 List and as an Edmund Hillary Fellow.

Florence is a lawyer by training, previously working at Bell Gully and for the United Nations. She spent 2022 studying a Masters at University of California, Berkeley specialising in sustainable food systems.

With a strong background in health advertising and marketing, Talei saw the opportunities in Social Media marketing over 10 years ago and has grown INSIGHT’s expertise, bringing together a unique blend of healthcare and social media knowledge.
