Jamie Fitzgerald

Jamie Fitzgerald is one of New Zealand’s most sought after keynote speakers and management consultants due to his ability to translate his inspiring and insightful stories and experiences into practical business messages for teams and organisations.

Jamie has walked unaided to the South Pole, holds the world record for rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, is a double New Zealand representative, fronts television documentaries (First Crossings & Intrepid NZ) that have aired around the world, and is CEO of consultancy business, Inspiring Performance.

Dr Lance O’Sullivan

From a young boy labelled by society as a troublemaker, Lance developed into a passionate advocate for Maori health. He is a pioneer for equal health care in his community and a champion for creating a fairer New Zealand.

He is the recipient of the Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader Award and the Public Health Association Public Health Champion Award. He was also named TVNZ Maori of the Year in 2013 and New Zealander of the Year in 2014 for bringing health programmes to disadvantaged in rural areas.

Andy Elliot

Andy Elliot is Research and Business Development Manager for AuOra, Wakatū. He has had a successful track record of commercialisation within the aquaculture industry. Andy is currently focused on health and nutrition, bioactive extracts and ingredient development for functional food and nutraceuticals. AuOra is the new Health and Nutrition export business unit of Wakatū.

In 2018 Andy received a Nuffield Scholarship, his research topic explored how NZ business and primary industry urgently needs to reposition their offerings towards health and nutritional solutions, rather than just food and beverage. To help achieve this he has proposed and developed a new business model that provides a platform for engagement with new customers and new offerings.

Jonathan Elms is the Sir Stephen Tindall Chair Professor in Retail Management. Jonathan leads Massey University’s Bachelor of Retail and Business Management, NZ’s only retail degree. He is also the Director of the Centre for Advanced Retail Studies (CARS), NZ's 'centre of excellence' for retail research, education and scholarship.

Jonathan joined Massey in December 2014 after spending seven years at the Institute for Retail Studies (IRS), University of Stirling. At Stirling, Jonathan directed the IRS’ undergraduate retail marketing programmes delivered on campus and in Singapore.

He holds a BSc (Hons) Marketing, MSc Management, and PhD in Marketing from Lancaster University

Samantha Firsow

Samantha takes a helicopter view of industry performance in New Zealand across convenience, grocery and pharmacy channels and contextualises this with global trends and insights to bring the data to life.

Samantha also worked in the UK in a global shopper insights role for TCC a retailer loyalty company, worked at strategic market research firm Euromonitor as well as working with a variety of clients across EMEA at Infotools.

Catherine Graham

Catherine Graham is currently Divisional Manager of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Economic Division. She has over twenty years of experience in both the public and private sector, advising on both public policy and business performance.

Her public policy roles have been at the Ministry of Education, Ministry for Primary Industries, and MFAT, including a diplomatic posting to New Zealand's Embassy in Moscow. Catherine is an experienced trade negotiator having working on both WTO issues and Free Trade Agreements.

In the private sector, she has worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a manager in its advisory business and as General Manager Trade Strategy for Fonterra.

Iain is the CEO and Director of Revolution Fibres. Iain has been deeply involved in nanofibre production and the development of many unique nanofibre products in the past ten years.

Iain co-founded Revolution Fibres in 2009 and has led the business since 2012. Iain is a scientist (BSc, Biochemistry) with a background in environmental health, government policy, product development and sales. Iain is a passionate advocate for nanofibre manufacturing and its commercialization in many sectors.

Their product ActivLayr™ combines NZ-marine collagen with bioactives in the form of a rapidly-dissolving fabric that dissolves instantly into the skin, launched in 2019.

Maurice Parlane

Maurice Parlane

Maurice Parlane has 28 years’ experience in technical and consulting roles within the natural heath products and biotech industry, including 18 years as an industry consultant.

His core skills and experience are in manufacturing and compliance management; process design and improvement; validation and operational excellence. Maurice has assisted numerous organisations to establish, improve or scale-up manufacturing operations in Australasia and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to this; he held senior engineering and manufacturing roles within the Glaxo group of companies.

He holds a Bachelor of Manufacturing Technology (Hons) as well as mechanical and electrical engineering qualifications. Maurice is a past president and director of the ISPE Australasian Affiliate, and is active on a number of regional and international expert groups. He holds professional membership of IPENZ, and the NZ Institute of Food Science and Technology. Maurice is the current chairman of the NZ Therapeutic Products Manufacturers Association and a member of PDA and NZBio.

Gareth joined Scientific & Technical Recruitment (STR) in 2018 on the back of a career which spanned Australasia, the United States and Europe with a global manufacturer of FMCG, Nutritional supplements & Healthcare products. During this time, Gareth led its Regional Innovation Strategy and Development (with a focus on Vitamins, Minerals & Supplements) and sat on the NZ Management team, all while building a passion for the people side of business having taken on responsibility for recruitment in various markets and sectors.
